So, the dogs woke me up at 5 am to go potty. They sorta fell back asleep, but then Bryan woke up (he spent the night last night) shortly afterward, so he went downstairs with the doggies. He let me sleep in until 8, which was nice. I like sleep. I woke up feeling pretty cruddy, but now that I've got some coffee in me, I'm feeling better.

Yesterday, Bryan and I did a little running around - I cashed my Christmas check from my dad, we did a little shopping, and I fed Tara's cats- I'm amazed they haven't set the house on fire yet. I'm fully expecting to go home one day this week and find the Christmas tree knocked over and Shadow napping in the middle of the mess. We also went to Massena, and I ran into my friend Ken there. We geeked out over manga and comics in the bookstore - it was good. :D I bought the giant book of Azumanga Daioh, and also picked up an electric blanket for when I go back home.

Alright, I should probably go wake up Bryan - he went to go take a nap, and told me to wake him up at 10.

*rubs eyes blearily* wha... Is it really 7:48 am?

Wow. I haven't seen 7 am since student teaching.

Ah well, pomeranians are a much better excuse to get up this early.

Anyway, I do happen to have a cup of coffee next to me, so this may be the reinstatement of Morning Coffee Updates! (for my Dreamwidth buddies, Morning Coffee Updates are updates I make in the morning while drinking a cup of delicious, delicious coffee.) Granted, I'm not in my own house, or even drinking coffee out of one of my Tinkerbell mugs, but the coffee was made with my coffee maker! (Yes, I dragged it over here.) Anyway, last night was good, even if I couldn't get to sleep last night. I think it was because I was sleeping in someplace different. Leo cuddled at my feet early in the night, and then Kaya and even Smokey the Cat joined in. Athena, another of the cats, kept wandering in to check on me, which I thought was sweet. I may not be a big cat fan, but I do love Athena. Nobody woke me up by barking this morning - instead, I got kisses from Kaya. (However, once I got up and out of bed, then the barking started. Now everyone's quiet again, though. Good puppies.)

I think the cold I caught last week is on it's way out- I feel a bit less stuffy, and my sinuses don't feel so gross. I'm a little wheezy, but it could be because my lungs aren't used to these cats.

Other than that, I've got nothing.

So, I know, I'm more talkative than usual today! Well, I've got nobody here except the cats, and most people I know left for the holidays already, so it's just me and you, internets. (At least until tonight, then it's me, the internets, three cats, and three dogs, and a bird, and a bunch of fish.)

I have come to the realization that I am not a cat person. I mean, sure, I can live in the same house as cats, but it's so much nicer when Molly and Oliver are around to herd them upstairs.

However, if they were here, I wouldn't have had the experience of Shadow trying to eat my arm through my bathrobe, or get to enjoy her climbing up my back so she can gnaw on my ponytail and chew on my shoulder.

Other than Shadow running around like crazy, it's been quiet here. I've spent much of the day watching Law and Order

...

and it's two hours later, and I'm pom-sitting now, watching more Law and Order. :D

My resolutions for 2010...

- Work out 2/3 times a week. I need to get healthy.
- Track what I'm eating, how much of it, so on and so on. I need to eat better.
- Get my depression under control.
- Write in here once a day. Writing is good therapy, and I also want to get more in the habit of writing. I've been a bit of a failure at my fiction journal. Maybe I'll set aside one day a week for stories.
-Try and make more friends, or at least be more social with the friends I do have.  I know, it's kind-of cheating on this one considering I'm living with one of my best friends, but I do have other friends that I hardly talk to.  I need to get out of my comfort zone, and get better.
- Get a job.  This one needs no explanation.

I'm going to make these my goals to work on for the new year.  I'm going to take this time to myself I've been given and try and make something constructive out of it.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Thursday I gave [info]milk_thief a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). In April [info]willowpez and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points). In January I caught a purse-snatcher who stole [info]jedi_iwakura's purse (30 points). Last Saturday I donated bone marrow to [info]simplytwilight in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In November I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points).

Overall, I've been nice (410 points). For Christmas I deserve a new dolly!

Sincerely,
purpleparadox

Y'hear that, Santa? A new dolly. Hopefully of the ball-jointed persuasion. (Oh, how I wish.)
